OUR PROGRAMS AT AIRBOURNE

PRESCHOOL AGE PROGRAM

Mommy and Me

Tiny Tumblers– Parent & Me Program (ages 18 months (must be walking) -36 months) – 45 minutes:  

The purpose of this beginner class is to have parents work side-by-side with their child in a fun, comfortable atmosphere.  The children will learn how to explore various surfaces, learn how to do basic gymnastics with a coach and parent in collaboration. The children learn how to jump, do rolls, learn spatial awareness, develop hand-eye coordination and start to work on balance.  This class is designed to be fun and high-energy where you and your child will enjoy being together in a gymnastics environment.

This class is $50/month/1 class a week, $80/month/2 classes a week.

Little Tumblers– (ages 3 turning 4) – 1 hour:

The purpose of this beginner class is for your child to start to break away from being with you and rather in a class-like setting.  The children learn how to do basic gymnastics and enjoy instruction with a coach. The children learn how to jump, do rolls, learn handstands, and cartwheels in a fun safe way.  This class is designed to help with separation anxiety and let the kids go off on their own and have fun in their own individual way while knowing they are okay.  This class helps with fine and gross motor skills as well as continuing to develop hand-eye coordination and balance through various apparatuses.  This class is more structured and the children learn how to follow instructions in a fun safe manner in the hopes of them continuing on in our recreational gymnastics program.

This class is $75/month/1 class a week, $115/month/2 classes a week, $150/month/3 classes a week.

Tumblers– (ages 4 to turning 6 – Pre-K through Kindergarten) – 1 hour

This is class is developed for children ages 4 – turning 6 years old, basically those children in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten for the upcoming school year.  This purpose of this class is for children to continue to learn how to follow directions and learn more gymnastics skills.   They will continue to build on the foundation of hand-eye coordination, gross motor skills and balance.  In this class, children go on all the apparatuses and learn proper gymnastics technique on each as well as engaging in basic stretching and conditioning.

This class is $75/month/1 class a week, $115/month/2 classes a week, $150/month/3 classes a week.

SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM

RECREATION

These classes are for children who are ages 6 (must be in 1stgrade) and above. These are leveled programs. Each class is 1 hour and 15 minutes long.  LevelS 1-2 go through basic gymnastics skills and every student must start there before being promoted by an evaluation to Level 3 or 4. Children are regularly evaluated for such programs and parents can also request an evaluation.

Shining Stars – Level 1– 1 hour & 15 minutes

This is an entry-level,  beginner’s class designed for our younger gymnasts (age 6 and in 1stgrade and up) in which your child will work on each apparatuses (floor, bar, beam and vault) and learn  all the basics on each apparatus and safety of each piece of equipment.  Beginning level skills on the floor consist of forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and round-offs.  Beginning level skills on the bars consist of pull-ups, pull-overs, casts and back-hip-circles.  Beginning level skills on the beam are kicks, overall spatial awareness, turns, how to properly mount and dismount a beam, and basic jumps.  Beginning level skills on the vault consist of how to properly run and warm up, learn jumps, learn “squat-ons”, “pike-ons”, “straddle-ons”, and how to successfully dismount the vault.

Shining Stars – Level 2– 1 hour & 15 minutes

This is a more advanced beginner’s/intermediate class designed for those who have completed our Level 1 class or who is older (ages 9 and up) . Similar to Level 1, your child will work on each of the apparatuses (floor, bar, beam and vault) and review the basics on each apparatus and safety of each piece of equipment. In level 2, they will learn more advanced skills on floor.  While learning more skills they must maintain or develop the same skills as in Level 1.  Some examples of intermediate skills on floor that they will learn include, back handsprings, dive rolls, intermediate jumps, how to connect two or more skills such as a round-off, back handspring and front handspring.  On the beam they will learn handstands, dismounts, as well as various dance skills.  On the uneven bars they will learn how to do “squat-ons”, and bar connections, learning how to put routine skills together.  On the vault they will learn how to do front handsprings over the table. From this class, students will be evaluated to move on to our Level 3 or Level 4 classes.
